LINDBERGH TERMED ‘VOICE OF DICTATORS’
Philadelphia, April 28 (UP) –
Col. Charles A. Lindbergh was characterized today by Dr. Daniel A. Poling, president of the World Christian Endeavor Union, as “the accepted friend and voice of the dictators” in America.
Mr. Lindbergh’s recent speech before the America First Committee at New York “located the subversive groups and their unwitting friends,” Dr. Poling said yesterday in Baptist Temple.
Dr. Poling charged:
The audience placed itself squarely with Herr Hitler when it cheered Col. Lindbergh’s statement that England could not win.
It was not un-American; definitely it was anti-American. It made clear the line of division. In doing this, it rendered America a service. Nazi Germany today regards Col. Lindbergh exactly as she regarded Lord Mosley, the Fascist leader in England. For Lindbergh too is the accepted friend and voice of the dictators.
