In oktober 1942 The warlord of Xinjang broke with Stalin and China demanded withdrawal of Soviet forces from Xinjang. Stalin gave in to those demand in 1943 amd Soviet forces were withdrawal from Xinjang before the Caïro and Teheran summits of 1943.

ok… I don’t get why Stalin would continue to put his forces in Xinjang (1941-1943) when the same forces could have been used to help fight the Germans.

Plus let us say he attacks, Xinjang would he be at war with the entirety of China because of the United Front and what is then stopping the Japanese to launch their offensive. So now Stalin will have 3 fronts : Germans, Chinese and the Japanese.

The Soviet Union did not immediately withdraw its forces from Sinkiang when China asked for their withdrawal in oktober 1942, but waited until well in 1943 before withdrawing Soviet forces from Xinjang. In oktober 1944 The Soviet Union began supporting an armed rebellion against Nationalist China in the north of Xinjang.
