CLOTHING WORKERS GET WAGE INCREASE

New York, May 19 (UP) –
An $18-million annual wage increase for 135,000 clothing workers in all parts of the country went into effect today as a result of a collective agreement reached between the Clothing Manufacturers’ Association of the United States and the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.

The pay rise, union officials said, will bring wage increases of 10-13¢ to those affected.

Clothing markets affected by the increase include New York, Chicago, Boston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Rochester and Milwaukee.
