Churchill’s daughter sees action in raid
London (AP) –
Sgt. Mary Churchill, daughter of the Prime Minister, was among members of the Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service who saw action with anti-aircraft batteries during Monday night’s scattered German air raids.
As in previous raids, a number of “mixed batteries” went into action, women operating rangefinders and predictors, while men fired the guns.
