Burma Railway Tribute

I note that today marks the joining of the Thai Burma railway in 1943
My Grandmothers Brother dies almost as the railway was completed
Having travelled to Hellfire Pass and the Weary Dunlop Museum to appreciate how tough the terrain is.
It struck me how tough me Great Uncle must have been
Being captured in Singapore, he was on the railway from the start
So to get to almost the end must have been a supreme act of endurance

I have a request for Sparty

I always feel your sincerity when you pause and end with “Never Forget”
Great work; really brings home your message.

In Australia we use the phrase “Lest We Forget”
It is a very solemn and significant to us

I am wondering when you cover the Burma Railway if you might consider using “Lest We Forget” to close - in tribute to those who suffered and more importantly for those left behind, who have Never Forgotten.

Lest we Forget…!

I went to Singapore in 2012 and toured the battle sites. I still dont understand why Singapore surrendered so quickly. The Australiens was not that impressed either as this artikle tells https://www.nma.gov.au/defining-moments/resources/fall-of-singapore

The fall of Singapore was the final straw that brought about a paradigm shift in foreign policy for the Australian Government

Well I guess another paradigm shift is the newly nuclear sub deal
