British casualties in Italy now 36,626

London, England (UP) –
British, Dominion and Indian forces have suffered 36,626 casualties, including 7,635 dead, in the Italian mainland campaign, Prime Minister Winston Churchill announced in the House of Commons today.

Of the total casualties from the time of the first landing on the mainland last Sept. 9 through Feb. 12, Mr. Churchill disclosed there were 5,708 missing and 23,283 wounded.

The War Department announced last week that casualties among Americans of the 5th Army in Italy totaled 25,665, which included 3,707 killed, 16,510 wounded and 5,448 missing.
