Hello, I read this short french book this month and found quite interesting as it shows well the bad takes some had around vichy and the story behind the sword and shield theory and debunk the idea that there’s a paxton doxa (historian fact checking those who claim vichy protected french jews isn’t what I’d call a doxa). The book does talk about the rémy scandal, he’s a resistant who pushed for the sword and shield theory (reading his memoir, it did felt like he was defending vichy in it) and shows well the issue with robert aron work.
