Sugar ration coupon 5 expires at midnight

Washington (UP) –
Office of Price Administration officials reminded housewives today that sugar ration coupon No. 5 expires at midnight tonight.

Two pounds of sugar may be purchased with each coupon, the same allotment allowed on coupon No. 6, which will be good for purchases from Sunday through August 22.

The “bonus” coupon – No. 7 – may still be used for the purchase of two pounds of sugar in addition to the normal ration.

Lt. Elizabeth F. Rapp, Army nurse who has been in the service for more than a year, is now “somewhere in England,” according to word received by her mother, Mrs. Elsie S. Rapp, of 920 North 2nd St. Lt. Rapp, a graduate of the Jersey City Medical Center, was a supervisor at City Hospital in New York for ten years.
