The War Department announced today that the Air Forces have accepted experimental models of the Vultee BT-13 basic single-engined trainer made of plywood instead of aluminum. Successful conversion of this model to non-critical materials followed similar conversion of other training types and represents a saving of nearly 600 pounds of critical metal per plane, it was said.

War has brought two new courses to the University of Texas “mail order” curriculum. Correspondence courses have been set up in meteorology and in air transportation.
