Hollywood, May 15 (UP) –
Frank E. Churchill, 40, composer of “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?” and other music for Wait Disney films, killed himself with a rifle yesterday at his Paradise ranch near Castaic, police reported.
During the 15 years Mr. Churchill worked with Disney Studios, he wrote songs for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Dumbo, and numerous other productions.

James Walter Wilson, officially the oldest person in the United States, today observed his 117th birthday and looked forward to another year with optimism.
Mr. Wilson attributes his long life to obedience and “minding the laws of nature.”
The U.S. Census Bureau says Mr. Wilson, born a Negro slave in Georgia, is the oldest person in the nation. Yet he still walks four miles to the nearest store – for a plug of tobacco.

President Roosevelt today nominated Lincoln MacVeagh, present Minister to Iceland, to be the new Minister to the Union of South Africa. The present Minister to South Africa is Leo J. Keena.
