ALL-INDIA CONGRESS BEGINS DISOBEDIENCE CAMPAIGN
Nagpur, India, Oct. 17 (UP) –

The All-Indian Nationalist Congress opened a new civil disobedience campaign against the British government today under leadership of Mohandas K. Gandhi.

Vinoba Bhave, representing Gandhi, addressed a large gathering of villagers at Paunar, seven miles from Nagpur.

Bhave urged Gandhi’s followers not to support the British war effort with men or money. He charged that Britain was waging war in the interest of British imperialism.
