Martial law at Beaumont ended
Beaumont, Texas (AP) –
Martial law invoked Wednesday by Acting Governor A. M. Aikin Jr., following racial rioting that resulted in two deaths, was lifted Sunday and 1,600 Texas State Guardsmen left for their homes.
